This Week’s Data - 2024 Growth Goals

Agencies are like sharks. If they aren’t movong they are dying. For emerging agencies, if you aren’t growing faster than the growth of digital spend (about 15%), you are probably falling behind the market. So keep pushing on that growth because it keeps you alive.

This week’s investigation into the world of agency data was about 2024 growth targets. Across our Slack Channel & the Interwebz, we found some interesting data. The bigger the growth target, the less likely you are to hit it. Smaller agencies (under $1mm in revenue in 2023), on average projected out over 100% YoY growth, but only 13% were on target to hit that number, whereas 80% of agencies between $5mm-$10mm in revenue were on track to hit their much more modest (but higher dollar) growth target of 20%. If you aren’t on within 20% of your growth target today, you should probably think about reforecasting.
